American Academician Gives Introduction of 3D Printing Technology at Hunan University

On the afternoon of May 20th, Jyoty Mazumder, Robert H Lurie Professor of Engineering at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and member of the American Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech at the Hunan University College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering on 3D metal laser printing technology.

Professor Mazumder gave a review of his studies on 3D metal laser printing and pointed out the prospects of this technology based on former studies and an acute analysis of model metrics. Additionally, he showed his research into possible commercial applications of 3D metal laser printing technology in areas such as artifact protection, architectural design and health & medicine.
In his conclusion, professor Mazumder underlined the importance of international cooperation regarding this technology and expressed his hope for increased inter-college cooperation and dialogue during his time at HNU.
