Changsha Preliminary Regional Contest of the 6th Chinese Bridge Launched in HNU

On May 25, Changsha preliminary regional contest of the 6th Chinese Bridge--Chinese Proficiency Competition for International Students was launched in Hunan University. 18 participants from 14 countries competed for the 3 qualifiers of  Beijing Finals. Finally, Ma Wei, an Italian girl in Hunan University, An Tianshi, an American female student in Xiangtan University, and South Korea boy Xu Daban in Hunan Normal University got the qualification.

Ma Wei, the fist qualifier of Beijing finals, majors in Chinese. She said she intended to teach Italian students the knowledge about Chinese characters and Chinese culture at early ages through her efforts. She got the passport to Beijing Finals in the first round smoothly with her excellent Chinese communication and comprehension skill.

American girl An Tianshi, with big eyes and bushy eyebrows, was rather confident with the encouragement of her fans. She performed Peking Opera in a chaplet and official robes, which the ancient aristocratic women wore in wedding ceremony. The combination of Peking Opera and Chinese rap brought her ability of using Chinese into full play.

South Korea boy Xu Daban has been studied Chinese all the time. Although he arrived in China just two months ago, he possesses a great knowledge about Chinese culture. In the contest, this handsome boy played guitar and sang a Chinese song, won the warm applause from the audience. “I love Chinese music, especially rock.” he revealed, if entering the final, he planned to perform Chinese Kung Fu.

Changsha regional preliminary, hosted by Hunan University,  select “foreigners” who can speak Chinese from Hunan University together with Xiangtan University and Hunan Normal University to compete for Beijing Finals. The three judges are respectively Zhang Jinjun, a Chinese teacher in International Student Center of Hunan University, He Lizhu, Director of the Cultural News Department of Hunan Daily, Tu Xiaoding, a host of the Golden Eagle Documentary Channel in Hunan Broadcasting Station.

Those undetermined constants in the preliminary stage, they still have an opportunity to get a passport in Beijing Final through network way of resurrection.
