HNU, Michigan Tech Ink MOU for Academic Cooperation
Dr. Glenn D.Mroz, president of Michigan Technological University, together with his wife and his delegation visited Hunan University on April 17th. They signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with Cao Yijia, vice president of Hunan University, with a view to promoting high quality education, academic exchange and international cooperation between the two universities. They also agreed on the framework of formal cooperation agreement in the future.
More than 100 students have participated in the cooperative education program between the two universities which was founded in 2007, As per.the cooperation mode, students complete their first phase of study in Hunan University, and then complelte their degree in Michigan Technological University. The mode enriches students’ learning experiences, broadens their horizon, strengthens academic cooperation and exchanges between the two institutes. Cao Yijia wishes that the two universities will constantly develop new exchange programs on education and research by consolidating existing cooperation program.
Dr Glenn D.Mroz thanked Hunan University for warm reception and introduced Michigan Technological University that started with mining industry and emphasized on three development goals which conform to the expectations of cooperative education program of the two universities: recruiting the most outstanding talents, providing first-class education and creating infinite possibilities. Meanwhile, Dr Glenn D.Mroz hoped that education cooperation can be upgraded to a high level in the future.
