HNU Senior Art Major Becomes Chinese University’s Annual Figure

The 9th Chinese Annual Figures of Chinese University Student was announced on May 4th ,  according to which Fan Shizhong, a senior student majoring in visual communication design in School of Design, was selected among the Top Ten and became the first student from Hunan University to win this honor.

After winning the IF Design Awards and Red Dot Awards, Fan Shizhong received another 20 domestic and international design awards, including Top 100 in Sweden Electrolux Design Lab and Liteon Award, the “Oscar” in design circle for global Chinese. The former, only received by three mainland designers, was conferred on his individual work - Mini Washing Machine, The latter brought him an invitation letter from Ma Ying-jeou, the leader of Taiwan, making him the representative of the Chinese mainland participants to attend prize presentation and exchange activities in Taiwan. As the Chinese University Student annual figure, Fan Shizhong participated in the Forum of 2014 Annual Figure of University Students and Counselors and delivered a speech with his expectation, “My hope is to introduce Chinese traditional culture to the world through design.”
