Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra Performed in HNU Campus

On the evening of May 12, 2014 Classic Art into Campus -- Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra Concert was held in the gymnasium of Hunan University South Campus. For the event, the gym was packed with teachers and students who welcomed the musicians with their enthusiasm.


The Provincial Symphony Orchestra performed nine pieces of music. The concert opened with William Tell Overture, which was followed by some famous musical compositions, such as the sound track of Pirates of the Caribbean, the second and fourth movement of Dvorak, Symphonie No. 9, and Chinese classical music Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai (The Butterfly Lovers). The tune is so beautiful that left every audience deep impression and lingered in their mind for long. Finally, the orchestral music Lift Your Veil and Cancan pushed the concert to the high tide, the audience responded with thunderous applause, enjoying the music feast.  



When music resounded, there was a resounding silence in audience, showing the respect from students and teachers of Hunan University for the art of music as well as the musicians.


This concert was organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture, the Education Department of Hunan Province and Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra, and undertaken by Hunan University. Founded in 1993, Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra takes the responsibility of inheriting classical music, creating elegant musical atmosphere and devoting their efforts to spreading the world culture on the soil of Huxiang Culture. Via a large number of performances and cooperation with national and even world-level artists, Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra continually improves its professional standard and has become a famous and influential band in Hunan as well as in China. The band has performed in Hong Kong, Macao as well as foreign countries including Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
